I registered as a Dietitian in 2015 after graduating from the University of Surrey with first class honours.
In my first year since qualifying I have worked for the NHS with a primary focus on diabetes management and nutrition support in the elderly; this has built my experience in planning and facilitating group education sessions as well as individual patient consultations.
Nutrition and the psychology of health behaviours fascinates me. I enjoy learning about pathology and how the body responds to food. However, my main satisfaction comes from helping people overcome barriers to health, improving their quality of life.
My ethos is very much based on the idea that we can all achieve good health regardless of size, and that we should encourage behaviours which promote better wellbeing without body shaming.
Alongside my Dietetic work I also train in, and coach, gymnastic strength training for adults, a great way to test your body’s abilities and push the boundaries of what you previously thought possible.
